Hey Everybody!

I'm Alec and I was born on October 4, 1999. It wasn't like my family was racing to have me by the millenium, but then again it almost seemed like I was going to wait until then! I was two weeks late and my mom went through a whole 36 HOURS of labor!! Guaranteed I'll probably be hearing that story for the rest of my life... geesh! I can just see it now:

"Alec Lawrence Parent, I did NOT go through 36 hours of labor just to have you eating cookies and watching television all day!"

Ah well, I guess that's life. A lot of people wonder where my name came from. Well, my mom's grandmother was named Alice (hence, Alec), and my dad's grandfather was named Lawrence. I guess they were really loved because mom and dad really wanted me to share their names. Unfortunately, they have both passed on, but maybe a little of them both will live on with me. (As an aside, I was also share a birthday with my mom's Great-Grandmother!)
